Cost Manager – Hyperscale Data Centre – Rome, Italy

€100,000 – €110,000 + Rotation + Accommodation + Living allowance

We are seeking an experienced Cost Manager to join a leading international contractor on a hyperscale data centre project in Rome.
 

This role is ideal for a commercially focused professional with a strong background in large-scale MEP and mission-critical projects, particularly with experience working in Switzerland. You will be responsible for driving cost control and financial management while working closely with the project delivery team and stakeholders.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all cost management activities for the data centre project, ensuring accurate forecasting and financial reporting.
• Manage procurement, contract administration, and commercial performance of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Oversee budget control, valuations, change management, and risk management processes.
• Liaise with clients, design teams, and project managers to ensure commercial objectives are met.
• Provide strategic advice on cost-related decisions and value engineering opportunities.
• Produce accurate, timely cost reports and financial updates for senior leadership.
• Ensure all commercial activities align with health, safety, and quality standards.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Cost Manager or Quantity Surveyor on data centres or other mission-critical projects.
• Fluent in Italian (spoken and written) – essential for client and site team communication.
• Strong track record of working on projects in Switzerland, with knowledge of local regulations and standards.
• Excellent understanding of mechanical and electrical (M&E) cost management.
• Experience with international forms of contract, including NEC and FIDIC.
• EU passport or unrestricted right to work in Italy (mandatory).
• Available to start within 2–4 weeks.
